Eye's WIDE open.....

Have you ever had one of those moments or perhaps even a day, where you sit back and say to your self..."That just opened MY eye's" Well that has happened to me several times  in my life! This last time was just a day ago. As many of you know I have a "soft" spot in wanting to help find a CURE for Cancer. I have always felt a need to really DO something. I  found that running has allowed me do  just that.  My goal for this year is to finish 11 events in the year 2011. Many of these events I choose because they sponsor a Charity that deals with helping to find a CURE. To me it doesn't matter what type of Cancer someone has. What matters is in finding a CURE for ALL cancer.  I wear PINK not only because it is my favorite color. I wear it because it is also the Color for HOPE
Here is where I have had my eye's OPENED.....
*Notice how BIG my eye's are?!
A VERY talented, driven, wife, mother and friend of mine has Brain cancer.  I just learned that the "Ribbon Color" for that type of cancer is GREY , I had it in my little mind that it doesn't matter what color of ribbon I choose to wear. To ME every color is represented under the big "umbrella" of the PINK .    *HOPE = PINK RIBBON*
So please know that about me! I CARE and RUN for ALL CURES of CANCER!

I just pray that everyone will donate and give to any charity with this same goal in mind.

*Now with that in mind....there a few fund raiser's going on to help in the fight. I am currently trying to raise $2300.00 for the Susan G. Komen foundation 3-Day for the Cure.
Also Bloggers Bake for Hope is having a Bake Sale May 4-7th. * I have donated to bake a pan of Snickerdoodle Blondie's as well as 2 dozen Banana Whoopie Pies.
Go donate! Open your eye's to helping others!

Those of us with cancer appreciate those of you who take your time to do special events to help fund the research to find the cure. I have Choroidal Melanoma. It's a form of skin cancer that attached itself to the back of my left eye! I've lost my vision in that eye but I'm alive!
Thank you again for your caring heart to go out of your way to help!

I don't know you, but you seem to be a very caring, big hearted woman! Thank you for this lovely post...I too didn't know that different cancers were represented by different ribbons!

oh my, I am speechless. humbled. What an angel you are, Lark. Do you know that? Do you know how you touch peoples lives? I wear a ribbon for YOU - for friendship, because GIRL you are one in a million and I wish upon a start you lived close to me. We would get into some serious trouble. HUGS and gratitude. TS
