This bread is a dense, moist type of bread.
It made great breakfast toast.
It has such a deep rich taste, that
seem to get better each day.

3/4 C. Hot Water
1/4 C. Honey
1/4 C. Shortening
2 tsp. Salt
6-6 1/2 C. All Purpose Flour
2 Egg's

Start by placing the 1/4 C. water, yeast,
sugar in a bowl. Let bloom for 10 minutes.
In a large mixing bowl combine the
oatmeal, syrup, coffee or molasses,
hot water, honey, shortening and
salt.  Stir until shortening is melted.
Add in 1 C. flour, eggs and yeast mixture.
Mix until well blended.
Add in remaining flour, mix until
all is blended and dough pulls
away from side  of bowl.
*You may need additional flour*
Remove dough, lightly rub some oil
over the dough. Place into a greased bowl

Punch down dough, divide into 2
loaves. Place dough into (2)
9x5" greased loaf pans.
Cover with a light towel, and let
rise double in size. Bake at

Remove from pans to a wire rack.
