Peanut Butter Bars with PB Frosting

If you are a Peanut Butter Lover,
you are going to go crazy over these!
They are soft, chewy and loaded
with peanut butter flavor.
And I was just talking about the bar
part.....the frosting~ Oh My Heck!
So put on your apron and start
preheating the oven, you are going
to be thankful you have time to
make another batch before the family
gets home! (lol)
 
Peanut Butter Bars
1 Cup All Purpose Flour
3/4 tsp. Baking Powder
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/2 C. Shortening
1/2 C. Creamy Peanut Butter
1 C. Brown Sugar~ packed
2 Eggs
1 TBSP Vanilla
 
Preheat oven to 350
In mixing bowl cream together the
shortening, peanut butter and brown sugar.
Beat in eggs and vanilla.
Add in all your remaining ingredients.
Spread into a greased 9x13" pan.
Bake for 25-30 minutes.
Let bars cool completely before frosting.
 
Peanut Butter Frosting
1 lb. Powdered Sugar
1/2 C. Creamy Peanut Butter
1/2 C. Shortening
1 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Vanilla
1/3 C. Boiling water
 
In a mixing bowl beat together
all ingredients except the water.
*You will add the water slowly
as you are beating together the other
ingredients.
Frost cooled bars.
