Better than "Starbucks" Pumpkin Scones

Better Than "Starbucks" Pumpkin Scones
Anyone of my close friends will tell you that  my "guilty" pleasure
is being able to go to town and get a Starbucks Frap.
I have heard from a lot of people that they love
their Pumpkin Scones. So I tried one.....well I thought
I could do better! You be the judge.

4 2/3 C. Self Rising Flour
2/3 C. Brown Sugar
4 1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
3 tsp. Pumpkin Pie Spice
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1 tsp. Salt
1 C. Margarine; cut into small pieces
2 Eggs
1 1/2 C. Pumpkin Puree
1/2 C. Buttermilk
2 tsp. Vanilla

Maple Glaze
2 C. Powdered Sugar
1 tsp. Maple flavoring
dash of cinnamon
milk to thin out

Preheat Oven to 400
Mix all dry ingredients together.
Cut in the margarine pieces until you have
small crumb size mixture.
Add in eggs, pumpkin, buttermilk and vanilla.
Mix on low until well mixed.
Sprinkle counter top with flour and pat out into
a 10 inch wide circle,  2 inches high.
Using a pizza cutter cut into wedges.
Place on a parchment lined sheet pan.
Bake at 400 for 20-22 minutes.
Let cool completely before spreading on the glaze.

So grab a Frap. and enjoy these scones!

I made there vanilla bean scones and even took them in and taste tested the difference (they did not know). oh mine won hands down. I am dying to make this. Question: I have lots of pumpkin that i pureed myself last year can i use it or does it need to be canned

Well I'm just going to have to give 'em a test and see how well they stack up! Anything in the name of scientific experimentation, after all. ;)
